THINGS THAT CAN DESTROY YOUR ROOF FLASHING

Roof Flashing a critical component of a building weatherproofing system and damage to it can lead to roof leakages and other issues.

NOTE: Roof flashing is not typically designd for foot traffic, the aim is to prevent  water intrusion, direct water flow and seal  gaps  and joint. And walking on roofing flashing can cause; cracks, tears, puncture, displacement.

Here are some of the things that can cause roof flashing;

IMPROPER INSTALLATION: Flashing that is not properly installed can lead to gaps , wrinkles ,or other defects that compromise its effectiveness.

ANIMALS INFESTATION: Animals like birds, squirrels, insects can nest in or around flashing , causing damage or displacement.

CHEMICAL EXPOSURE:Exposure to chemical like bleech , acid or pesticides can corrode or degrade flashing material.

MATERIAL DEFECTS: Using low-quality or defective  flashing materials can increase the risk of damage or failure.

HIGH WINDS: Sttong winds can lift, shift or damage flsjjing especially if its not properly installed.

WEATHERING AGING: Over  time, flashing  can deteriorate due to exposure to sunlight rain, snow and temperature flututaion.

FOOT TRAFFIC: Walking on the roof  can damage flashing
